I applied to NASA awhile ago, when will I hear back? Does NASA send rejection letters? Is there a deadline for them to respond?
This is a tough one to answer because I am not involved in any way with the application process nor do I speak for NASA on this topic. However, I will say that as far as I know, NASA does not have any deadlines for responses. I have heard of students receiving responses anytime between December and April, but no later than April.
What I do know:
Applications are accepted and responses are given on a rolling basis
Applications are due by a hard deadline which changes each year but is typically in April for the summer session
You will not receive a rejection letter (you might see the position is "filled" or "closed" on the intern portal where you applied intern.nasa.gov)
You will receive an email if you are offered an internship (and you will have that acceptance letter on intern.NASA.gov too)
